Why can't I set a timer larger than 60 sec? Won't this drain my battery quickly?
Firstly, realize that we do not request quotes when the application is not running (the iPhone does not allow apps to run in the
background) or if the screensave is enabled. We only get quotes while the screen is on. We expect that most people will only view each
screen for a few minutes before moving on, so high timer values are not useful. Also, if you have the screen on for the time it would take
a 15 minute timer to fire, then you are using far more battery power from the screen than any request for new quotes.
What does "Long" and "Short" mean when I create a lot?
If you are buying some stock then you are going "Long". If you are a doing a short sell then you are going "Short".
See
this for more info.
I entered a lot but it is showing a loss when it should be a profit?
Chances are that you have misunderstood the purpose of Short and Long. In this context it has nothing to do with
how long you have held the stock it is whether you bought the stock or sold it short. If you entered a short then you will only show a gain if the
stock goes down in price.
I entered a lot but the day gain is showing the same value the total gain.
In general, day gain is based on the percentage change in the value of the stock for today. However, if you enter a lot
with a lot date of "today" then the day gain is actually the difference between the price now and the lot price. This is the same as the
definition for total gain. For example, MSFT opens today at 20 and I buy it when it hits 22. If the stock is currently 23, my day gain is
only $1 per share and not $3.
